ONGOLE: In a tragic incident, a 35-year-old woman, said to be infected with HIV, committed suicide after poisoning her two daughters here on Wednesday. The Talluka police said investigation revealed that the woman, a construction worker living in the Venkateswara colony, took the extreme step after giving rat poison to her daughters, aged 10 and 3 years, as she did not want to leave them behind to fend for themselves. She is survived by husband Krishna (45) who was also said to be infected by HIV, according to Assistant Superintendent of Police R. Jaya Lakshmi.
